THE PUNK ROCK CHEF

Ronald Phelps II " The Punk Rock Chef "

I found a love for cooking at an early age.  I got inspired by watching cooking shows on PBS with my Dad and then watching my Mom cook Vietnamese dishes. My favorite style of food to cook is Asian style. My Mom is from Saigon and I am used to that style of food. I love heat!  Ron favorite chefs are Michael Voltaggio, Jet Tila and Ming Tsai. My first job in cooking was at a deli at the Shaftsbury Country Store. I made salads, sandwiches and fried chicken.  I moved on to cooking at the hospital and college in Bennington.

Ronald grew up in Shaftsbury, Vermont right out side of Bennington.  He graduated from the Hallmark Institute of Photography in 1996.  Ron is an accomplished photographer with a Commercial, Band, Family, Pet and Food Photography background.

Ron’s favorite photographers are Robert Frank, Mick Rock and Pennie Smith.
